I am a Latina writer exploring issues surrounding gender identity, cultural hybridity, motherhood, and marriage.

My work examines the tension in embracing feminism as a life philosophy and negotiating the sociocultural roles of daughter, scholar, wife, and mother.  I have a Ph.D. in Literary Studies as well as a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley.  My short memoir has been published in Narrative, Hippocampus, The Woven Tale Press, Eclectica, Sukoon, and The Acentos Review, among others.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and love walking the trails on sunny days and drinking tea by the fire on cold misty afternoons.
